SOPC Charities - March 2011
The SOPC committee and the SOPC members have a mutual goal: Helping our sponsored children, supporting them to have a better life as well as donating money to charity organizations with their volunteers putting all their efforts and time in helping families & children!
For these purposes the Benefits Committee sells raffle tickets during the monthly SOPC luncheons and the money obtained goes directly to the selected charities voted by the SOPC Board of Representatives and to the SOPC sponsored children.
The awards are made at different times of the year and the amount donated depends on how much the SOPC achieves through the fundraising at the luncheons during the year.
Furthermore the SOPC tries to support charities through social events and other activities such as collecting food for the Food Bank twice a year.
These are the 4 children sponsored by the SOPC:
"My name is Emalyn! I'm 9 years I am living in the Philippines ."
"My name is Pamela! I am 12 years old and I am from Bolivia. When I am older I want to become a veterinerian."
"My name is Prakash, I am 10 years old and I am sharing a house made of mud in India. On my birthday, I was very happy to receive a soccer ball from the SOPC ."
"My name is Kavinda and I am 16 years old. I am from Sri Lanka and love to do Karate."
Organizations Supported by the SOPC
The SOPC also donates money to several charity organizations.
The SOPC is glad to support the organizations below from 2011 to 2013.
We select five charities every two years. Of these, at least one is a charity that support the military and military families and at least one is a local charity.
These organizations have done exceptional work throughout the past years by supporting health care to children & families throughout many exceptional voluntary helping hands!
The SOPC committee therefore wants to thank their members for supporting our mutual goal by attending the monthly luncheons!
